iLEAD Antelope Valley

Message from the Director

director word written on cubes on wooden background

I was alerted that our parents were recently approached by a security guard next door to our site. The guard, who is employed by the building’s owners and is not an iLEAD team member, asked parents to move their cars. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please remember that our neighbors are very supportive of our site — and, despite the impact we have on their daily operations, they love iLEAD! The general manager of Albertsons has given us permission to park in the designated spots, so let’s show them the same courtesy by only parking in the approved iLEAD parking areas that are marked green on the map. Please do not park in front of the businesses or block the driveways. It is imperative that we follow these guidelines so that we can continue to park on site. Thanks very much!

The first Donuts with the Director was very fruitful. The input parents provided was invaluable. Please join me for the next Donuts with the Director on Thursday, May 24, from 9 to 9:30 a.m.

A special thank you to our parent and care team member, Vanessa Barrett, for all you contribute to iLEAD AV. Thanks to you, we now have a partnership with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI). The special agents were on campus Friday to share their career expertise with our 5th and 6th grade learners and engage them in a hands-on activity.  Their support during the recent lock-down was invaluable. I am grateful for their participation and professionalism. They will return to work with our 5th and 6th graders on Friday, May 25. We are starting with 5th and 6th grade this year. Please know that our partnership will extend to other grade levels next school year. We have also been invited to tour the base next year!
