Before the break, our learners had an opportunity to demonstrate their learning at Presentations of Learning. They also had several more opportunities for fun! See the highlights below!
2nd grade Presentation of Learning
Mrs. Ross’s 2nd grade Presentation of Learning (POL) was about the world around us. Learners spent time looking at and experiencing the school community around them and then capturing that on film. They learned about camera parts, how they work, and how to take a visually pleasing picture. They also learned about different types of soil, rocks, weather patterns, and how plants grow.
3rd grade POL
Mr. Ortega’s 3rd grade Presentation of Learning was on the history of the Antelope Valley and how it has changed over the last 500 years.
5th grade POL
The 5th grade learners worked on their researching skills and organized a five-paragraph research paper that informs readers about animals and the ecosystem. They made art pieces that required the learners to engage and inform their audience.
6th grade POL
Mr. Z and Mr. White’s 6th grade class had a college fair for their Presentation of Learning. They learned and showed us how they can use higher education to change or improve their family legacy.
Kindergarten met one of Santa’s helpers!
7th grade built gingerbread houses!
Staff Party
Our staff members also had a chance to meet and celebrate the holidays!
We’re looking forward to so much more fun, collaboration, and growing together as lifelong learners this spring semester!
