iLEAD AV Exploration Learner Spotlight: Abdiel M.

Learner Spotlight Abdiel (1)

Meet Abdiel M., a kindergartener at iLEAD AV Exploration!

Abdiel likes LEGO, Sonic the Hedgehog, and jiu jitsu! And just recently he let Ms. Woodman, his educational facilitator, know that he LOVES tacos!

We are featuring Abdiel this month because not only is he a great kiddo, but he is also excelling academically. His Reading Eggs Reports (an online reading program we provide for our TK-5th graders) shows an increase of 135 Lexile points, which is equivalent to over a year’s worth of growth since mid-October! Abdiel is already reading at a first grade level! Completing about a lesson a day, Abdiel is proof that just a small effort over time makes a huge difference!

What else contributes to Abdiel’s success? Well, we can think of quite a few factors. Most importantly, Abdiel engages with his learning! He comes to Zoom daily for synchronous instruction with Ms. Woodman. He loves to make her do the “Smarty Pants Dance” by answering questions correctly. He attends on-site workshops twice a week. He completes his work in a meaningful and timely manner with his homeschooling parents. It is evident by his completed work that he and his family have engaged with the learning throughout the assignments. Instead of seeing the assignments as something to check off a list, they dig, explore topics, and have fun! This is where true growth happens!

Congratulations on your phenomenal growth, Abdiel and family!
