Message from the Director

Please join us for the Fall Festival on Friday, October 26, at iLEAD AV from 6–7:30 p.m.  Invite your friends and family to join us for an evening of fun with face painting, food, fun games, a costume contest, and much more!

I am happy to announce our first Spirit Week of the year, starting this week!

Monday: Superhero Day;

Tuesday: Picture Day (Order forms for school pictures went home last week);

Wednesday: Crazy Hair and Silly Sock Day;

Thursday: Disney Day;

Friday: iLEAD School Spirit Day (This is the day to wear our iLEAD shirts).

We have a host of other festive events in the month of October:

  • The BOOlvd on Lancaster Boulevard on Saturday, October 27th, from 1-5 p.m.  Join the Lancaster community for this family Halloween and Harvest Festival event. We will have a booth at the event. We are delighted to ask our parents and learners to booth with us. If you would like to sign up for an hour or two,  please contact us in the office at (661) 494-7442.
  • Antelope Valley Partners for Health Halloween Party on Tuesday, October 30, from 4-7 p.m.
  • Our own iLEAD AV is also hosting a Costume Parade on Wednesday, October 31, at 9:30 a.m. Families are invited to attend. You won’t want to miss it!

I am happy to report that we have acquired enough technology at AV for every learner to have access to a device. There are various educational benefits to using technology in the classroom, and we want to ensure the total amount of screen time learners have access to does not exceed the medical recommendations in a recent CBS News article.

“Children are also exposed to unhealthy food advertising while on their devices. In addition, the blue light from screens can hinder their ability to fall asleep, and lack of sleep may contribute to obesity risk.”
