Kindergarten and 8th Grade Promotion Celebrations: June 6

Dear Families,

Please note a change to the date, times, and location of the upcoming Kindergarten and 8th Grade Promotion celebrations. We’ve made this adjustment to ensure that we have a space large enough to accommodate all family members who would like to celebrate these significant milestones with their learners.

New Details:

Date: Thursday, June 6
Location: Quartz Hill Library, 5040 West Avenue M-2, Quartz Hill, CA
Schedule:

  • Kindergarten: 10:30-11:30 AM. Cake reception following, until noon.
  • 8th Grade: 12:30-1:30 PM. Cake reception following.

We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause and appreciate your understanding and flexibility. We look forward to celebrating these special moments with you!

TK-8th Grade Summer Camp: June 17-July 19

iLEAD AV TK-8th graders, you’re invited to summer camp at iLEAD AV! Join us on weekdays June 17 through July 19 from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM for activities including math review, reading workshop, hands-on activities, arts and crafts, swimming, PE, VR, and drone relays! iLEAD AV Water Bottles for Sale

As the days warm up, it’s extra helpful to send your child to school with a filled water bottle every day. Would you like one of these beautiful iLEAD AV water bottles? Get yours from the front office for $5 each while supplies last!

Did you know? We have water refill stations on campus for your learner to use.

Please be sure to write your child’s name clearly on their water bottle, so that if it’s misplaced, we can return it.

Sign Up for Homework Help: Mondays and Wednesdays

Great news! All of our learners have the opportunity to receive homework help from Mrs. Booker, our amazing Care Team member. During each 30-minute one-on-one meeting, Mrs. Booker will help your child go over and complete any assignment that you’d like. Time slots are available on Monday afternoons and Wednesday mornings. iLEAD AV Studio 8th Graders Take Flight

iLEAD AV 8th graders took their first glider flights Saturday, May 4!

Tapping into our curiosity about flight, iLEAD Student Aerospace Projects’ Soaring Aeronautics Project answers the question “How do things fly?” and introduces learners to the forces described by Newton and Bernoulli.

Through this project, learners use the engineering design process to fabricate and launch their own gliders, interact with a full-scale glider, learn from glider pilots about flight controls and aerodynamics, and fly a glider!

Preflight training on simulators supports the development of flight and navigation skills. The history of flight, anatomy of birds, current experimental gliders, and meteorology are woven in to extend and enhance knowledge, giving meaning to research and writing.

Special thanks to iLEAD Student Aerospace Projects and to Skylark North Glider Flight School for guiding and inspiring our learners!
