Get ready for Spirit Week at iLEAD AV Exploration! Dress up for Zoom classes and workshops for each theme of the day!
We had a full house for our workshops last week! We were so happy to have Mrs. Rivera leading the learners. They focused on abstract landscapes and produced beautiful work.

What is iSUPPORT?
A community of family volunteers who support our school. We may call on iSUPPORT members to volunteer in the classroom, help with curriculum collection and checkouts, assist with family events, be a welcoming committee to new families, advertise for us by word of mouth in the community, assist on field trips, be a resource to new homeschool families, or help with planning of special events. iSUPPORT also helps to keep families updated on what is taking place within our iLEAD AV Exploration family. It is a great way to connect with each other. We value our volunteers!
Please note that Thursday, September 28, is a minimum day for all grades. This provides the necessary time for all our learners and families to participate in Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs).
iLEAD Antelope Valley embraces the whole child, focusing on both social-emotional and academic skills. After our beginning-of-the-year assessments and in lieu of the traditional parent-teacher conference, the learners, facilitators, and parents/guardians collaborate annually to create an Individualized Learning Plan (ILP). ILPs help to guide instruction and social-emotional aspects for each learner. Everyone works together to reflect on, monitor, and make adjustments to the ILP as needed.
The primary goal of the ILP is to ensure that each child reflects on their own achievements, both academic and social-emotional, and identifies areas in which they need to improve and evaluate their progress toward those outcomes, starting at a basic level when they are younger and improving their ability to self‐assess over time.
Throughout the year, facilitators and learners meet to look critically at what they have accomplished, reviewing assessment data and setting forth new goals when their original goals have been accomplished. A portfolio is maintained that showcases the learner’s reflections throughout the school year.
iLEAD AV Exploration (home study) learners and families, we are very excited to announce our first meetup opportunity this school year! Join us October 19 from 10 AM to 1 PM at Gilchrist Farms (30116 Bouquet Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita, CA 91390). You’ll learn about farming and pumpkins, pet farm animals, milk goats, learn about horses and ponies, take a wagon ride, enjoy a picnic with your family and friends, experience a straw bale maze, and go home with your very own pumpkin!

Our LP2 workshops and art classes begin on September 19! Here are the topics we can look forward to exploring.
Art: Landscapes: Our first series of art workshops will focus on the study and creation of landscapes. Using different mediums and a variety of techniques, learners will create three different colorful abstract landscapes.
Lifelong Learner: This workshop will be all about one of iLEAD’s learner outcomes: becoming a Lifelong Learner. We will read stories that embrace a growth mindset and do activities that emphasize the “power of YET.”
Candy Science: Candy apples are a traditional treat many associate with carnivals, festivals, autumn parties, and more. Come learn the science behind making the perfect candy coating for this sweet treat!
