iLEAD AV Glider on Campus Event Elevates STEAM Learning

As part of our Soaring Aeronautics Project, on Thursday, March 14, we hosted our Glider on Campus event! iLEAD AV 8th graders interacted with pilots around a glider as they moved through four stations and also met pilot guest presenters. Then all grades enjoyed the chance to visit the glider and talk with the pilots!

Special thanks to Edwards Air Force Base, Skylark North Glider Flight School, and iLEAD Student Aerospace Projects for guiding and inspiring our kids!

Learners in our photography class captured this special event! Check out their phenomenal work!

iLEAD AV Exploration Learner Spotlight: Parker S.

Meet Parker S., a TK learner at iLEAD AV Exploration! We asked Parker and his mom, Kat, to share about their experience with independent study at iLEAD AV Exploration, and here’s what they had to say!

Q: Why did you choose to enroll at iLEAD AV Exploration?

Kat: We chose iLEAD AV Exploration because it felt like the right choice for Parker. He wasn’t enjoying a typical classroom during preschool, and iLEAD gives him the room to learn structure as well as do things at his own comfort, speed, and level.

Q: What is your best memory of your time at iLEAD AV Exploration so far?

Parker: The ice skating meetup and Kids Heart Challenge.

Q: Who is a strong iLEAD AV Exploration influence and why?

Parker: My mom because she helps me with my work.

Q: Why did your family decide to homeschool, and what does it allow you to do that you couldn’t do at other schools?

Kat: It felt like the right fit for Parker. It allows us to adjust his assignments to his abilities and skills, as well as do assignments at our own speed.

Q: Can you name a favorite project you’ve worked on at iLEAD AV Exploration?

Parker: I love all art we do at workshops.

Q: Who has helped you at iLEAD AV Exploration?

Parker: Ms. Woodman and all the other teachers at workshops.

We’re excited that Parker and his family have found a place where they can thrive while embracing Parker’s creativity and individuality, and we’re so glad they’re a part of our iLEAD AV Exploration community!
