All learners must be signed in after 9:00 a.m. There are no drop-offs. Please come in to the front office and sign in the book at the front desk.

Valet

Many of you may have noticed that we changed valet pickup at the gate. Parents, we will now have you present your valet card at the valet gate to one of our Care Team members sitting there. Your valet card will be verified and your learner’s facilitator will be called from the radio to have them walked to the valet gate.

Safety Guidelines for Heelys, Skateboards, Bikes

Heelys brand shoes can be worn, but for everyone’s safety, please remove the wheels for school. General safety guidelines also include no skateboards or bicycles being ridden on campus; they must be carried and walked. Thank you for your understanding and support!

Our Goals

Our planning and preparation are consistent with our three Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) goals. We’re looking forward to sharing how we’re meeting each goal throughout the school year, and we’ve listed the goals below:

Goal 1: Provide optimal conditions of learning through providing basic services, implementation of California State Standards, and access to an academic and educational program.

Goal 2: Provide all learners with a rigorous, creative, and broad curriculum to maximize academic achievement and college and career readiness.

Goal 3: Generate active engagement between parents/families and the school and connections with the community to promote learner achievement and communication among all stakeholders.

Breakfast and Lunch at iLEAD AV: Menu and Helpful Info

Menu: Please see here for the current menu. Note: no lunch on Fridays.

Breakfast Schedule: Breakfast is served from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. only.

Packed Lunch Guideline: Parents, please send your learners with a lunch that does not need to be warmed up. We are unable to warm or heat up food or give hot water to the learners. This is a safety issue, and we appreciate your cooperation.

Free & Reduced Meal Applications: Please submit your free/reduced lunch application to the front office as soon as possible. Lunch balances must remain under $20 this school year. Please make payments in the front office.

Prices: Learners who do not qualify for free or reduced-price meals must pay $3 for lunch and $2 for breakfast.

Pay for Lunches Online: iLEAD AV has partnered with My MealTime, a fast, secure online service for making credit or debit card deposits and monitoring your learner’s lunch account. Download the mobile app!

Health and Wellness Policy: Our learners are active and exerting energy outside, so they need nutritious refreshments, such as fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and as much water as possible. We’d like to share with you our Health and Wellness Policy as a helpful reference and to support you and your learner in making good food choices for nourishing the body and mind.

A Reminder about Food Deliveries: Parents, please inform your learners they are not to order food from Postmates, Grubhub, Uber Eats, DoorDash, or any other delivery service to the school. Parents can bring in lunches to the front office and we will call the learner up to the office to pick up their lunch.

Keeping the Valet Process Moving

Dear iLEAD AV families,

Please take time to review our valet process for drop-off and pick-up.

  1. In the mornings, the valet gate opens at 8:00 a.m.
  2. In the afternoon, the valet gate opens at 3:00 p.m.
  3. Many of you requested the opportunity to walk on-site to pick up your learners in the afternoon. Please park on 22nd Street West, walk onto the valet lot using the exit gate, and present your valet card. You will be able to walk to the classroom to pick up your learner/learners.
  4. Please remember the valet traffic flow pattern. There are no left turns to enter or exit the lot.
  5. To help us continue to be good neighbors, please do not block the driveways for Miller Elementary School or KinderCare on 22nd St. West. To assist us with that, our leadership and maintenance teams have designed a new flow pattern to get more of our parents inside the valet area.

Pickup is from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. Learners who have not been retrieved by 4:00 p.m. will go to Extended Care, and accounts will be billed at $3 per hour per learner.

Additional Procedures

The owner of the shopping center asked all parents and staff to stop parking there and posted signs warning us that cars would be towed, so that is no longer an option.

We are using our lot on 22nd Street West for valet before and after school. The lot is very large.  As a result, we no longer have valet in front of the school.

To access the lot, please turn right on K-4 from 20th Street West. You will pass Miller Elementary School, drive right around the bend, and make a right into our lot. At the start of the day, your learner will be greeted and escorted onto campus.  At the end of the day, your learner will be summoned and escorted to your car. Please be sure to post your valet card on the dashboard daily. Once your learner is safely in your car, you will exit the lot and make a right, which will take you to Avenue K. We will have cones, signs, and iLEAD team members on standby to support you and the learners.

In the mornings, the valet lot will open at 8:00 a.m. In the afternoon, it will open at 3:00 p.m. for dismissal. If you are walking your learner to class in the morning, we will have a parking area in the lot just for you.

iLEAD Antelope Valley Celebrates National School Choice!

“Every child deserves an effective, challenging, and motivating education. Because each student has their own unique set of talents, interests, and challenges, a variety of options in education is crucial. School choice ensures that each student can find a learning environment that allows them to be inspired, successful, and happy.”

—National School Choice Week

iLEAD AV participated in National School Choice week, celebrating the opportunity to empower parents and help children achieve their dreams through school choice. The learners had fun participating in the different activities and showing their school spirit!
